VERDICT

VERIFIED CHUFF

Truly confirmed. First person, unprompted. Nobody put the word in their mouth.

Verified chuff, intensity 3: chuffed three times in one interview, in just over a minute, two of them "really", and a smile that backs every one up.

Gold in Rio, injured for Tokyo, silver in Paris. Being back on the stage at all is the real medal here, in my opinion. The third chuff is for his family, which is the one that counts at home.
